What you'll see
The “Jarmusch & Waits” series brings together four Jim Jarmusch films involving the musician Tom Waits, either as an actor or providing the music. It opens on 7 October with “Noche en la Tierra” (Night on Earth, 1991), five stories in taxis in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rome and Helsinki, with a Waits song that changes tone with each city. On the 14th comes “Bajo el peso de la ley” (Down by Law, 1986), in black and white, with Waits as one of three prisoners sharing a cell. “Coffee and Cigarettes” (2003) is shown on the 20th and “Father Mother Sister Brother” (2025), the director's most recent work, closes on the 28th. All in the original language with subtitles.
Getting there and tickets
The four screenings are at 20:30 at the Filmoteca de Andalucía, calle Medina y Corella 5: Wednesday 7, Wednesday 14, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 28 October 2026. Each ticket costs 0.90 euros. All four films are shown in the original language with Spanish subtitles, as part of the Córdoba venue's programme.
