The IMAE celebrates the Día de la Hispanidad, Spain's national day, in Córdoba with a double bill at the Teatro de la Axerquía, its open-air auditorium on avenida Menéndez Pidal, next to the Cruz Conde park. The date is Sunday 11 October, the eve of the bank holiday, and it brings together two names that fly the flag for music made in Andalusia: the group Raya Real and the singer Sonia Priego, La Húngara. Raya Real, sevillanas to sing and dance to
Since 1990, Raya Real have been the most listened-to group at Andalusian ferias and brought about a real revolution in the world of sevillanas. If there is one artist who needs no frills to move an audience, it is Sonia Priego, La Húngara: truth unfiltered, power in person on stage even before the music starts. Her voice, somewhere between flamenco, rumba and copla, has made her one of the most recognisable figures in Andalusian popular music of the last two decades, and she completes a bill that pairs the choral repertoire of Raya Real with a far more personal presence.

The concert is on Sunday 11 October at 20:30 at the Teatro de la Axerquía. Tickets cost between 25 and 30 euros depending on the area, and are sold by the IMAE at teatrocordoba.es and at the Teatro Góngora box office. The venue is open air, so on an October night it is worth bringing something warm.
