Truths, lies and crossed relationships
«Closer» delves into the lives of four people whose relationships intertwine through attraction, jealousy, desire and the need to feel loved. What begins with a glance ends in a complicated game of half-truths and mixed feelings. It is theatre of intense dialogue and unexpected encounters, laying bare the most vulnerable side of its characters and speaking of something very familiar: how hard it is to be honest, even with yourself.
A text for adult audiences
Unlike the family puppet and fairy-tale shows that abound in the series, «Closer» offers an evening of text-based theatre for adult audiences, focused on relationships, attraction and the wounds they leave. It is a good chance to see contemporary drama at the Teatro Lope de Vega, the stage of the town that gives its name to Lope's most famous play, without having to travel to the capital.
Date and tickets
The Diputación's listings announce the show for Saturday 7 November 2026 at 21:00 (the calendar entry gives an earlier time, so it is worth confirming). It is part of Cosecha Cultural 2026. The Diputación has not published the price: best to check with Fuente Obejuna Town Council, which runs the venue, a few days before the show.
