What it is
The Teatro Municipal de Belmez hosts one of the performances on the autumn tour by Loyola Teatro, the Universidad Loyola's theatre group, with José Zorrilla's "Don Juan Tenorio". Directed by Carmen Rey, the staging revives Zorrilla's romantic drama in a university production that is touring several stages in the province. It is aimed at an adult audience and brings a classic of Spanish theatre to the Guadiato, with a very affordable ticket and organised by the town's own council. The production is by Loyola Teatro, from the Universidad Loyola, and it is a chance to see the classic close to home, in the town itself.
Getting there and tickets
The performance is on Saturday 7 November 2026 at 20:00 at the Teatro Municipal de Belmez, at Calle San Antonio 14. Tickets cost 5 euros. They can be collected at Belmez Town Hall or at the theatre box office, which opens one hour before the show. It is organised by Belmez Town Council. The same production is also performed in the city of Córdoba, at the Espacio Cultural Plaza de la Concha, on 14 November, and in Cabra on 29 November.
