From 9 to 11 October Castro del Río holds the XIX edition of Ars Olea, its craft fair, with more than 50 stalls in the barrio de La Villa, workshops, tastings, concerts, street theatre and migas cervantinas.

What it is
Ars Olea is the craft fair of Castro del Río, a town known across Spain for its olive wood craft. From 9 to 11 October its XIX edition brings together more than 50 stalls of craftspeople, potters, bobbin lacemakers, carpenters, basket makers, perfumers and jewellers in the historic barrio de La Villa, alongside food, heritage and culture. The opening, on Friday 9 at 19.30 in the Plaza de Armas del Castillo, honours the Asociación de Encajeras de Bolillo as Artesanas de Honor. There are workshops in olive wood carving, embroidery and soap making, street theatre about Cervantes, an exhibition in the Pósito, a miller's breakfast, tastings with Montilla-Moriles wines and DOP Baena oils, flamenco in the street, migas cervantinas, and concerts by the Coral Alfonso X el Sabio and the Banda de Música.
Getting there and tickets
The fair is held in the barrio de La Villa in Castro del Río from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026. The official opening is on Friday at 19.30 in the Plaza de Armas del Castillo, and that same day the museums hold an open day for schools. Saturday and Sunday pack in the children's workshops, tastings, samplings and street parades. It is organised by the Ayuntamiento de Castro del Río in collaboration with the Diputación de Córdoba and Iprodeco. The source gives no prices for workshops or tastings.
