What it is

Andrea Motis (Barcelona, 1995) comes to the Teatro Góngora with Intimate, the most close-up format of her career, as part of the 12th edition of Qurtubajazz. The trumpeter, singer and saxophonist shares the stage with Josep Traver, the guitarist she has played with most since her early days, and with Jurandir Da Silva. The repertoire has jazz at its centre, but it opens out to songs and wanders through country, blues, singer-songwriter music and the Brazilian legacy. Motis made her name with the Sant Andreu Jazz Band and Joan Chamorro's quintet, worked with Quincy Jones when she was just 16 and has shared a stage with Milton Nascimento, Omara Portuondo, Buena Vista Social Club and Yo-Yo Ma. She has eleven albums to her name.
