What it is
To mark its 50th anniversary, the Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía and the Fundación Cajasol are organising "Cómo hemos cambiado. 50 años de ciencia, salud y vida", a series that brings rigorous health information to the public and debunks hoaxes. Each session first looks back at the past, continues with an accessible talk and ends with a panel discussion open to the audience. On 22 October, "Cuidar la mente en tiempos de incertidumbre" (caring for the mind in uncertain times) looks at stigma, new treatments, prevention and the effect of social media on mental health. On 5 November, "Del diagnóstico a la medicina personalizada" (from diagnosis to personalised medicine) focuses on breast cancer: screening, surgery, oncology and artificial intelligence applied to diagnosis.
Getting there
The two remaining sessions are held at the Fundación Cajasol's premises in Córdoba, Avenida Ronda de los Tejares, 32: on Thursday 22 October and Thursday 5 November, both at 19:00. The source gives neither a price nor a registration system, so it is worth checking with the Fundación Cajasol before going. They are organised by the Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía and the Fundación Cajasol as part of the community activities for the hospital's anniversary.
