What it is / What you will see
Since 2005 the Rock and River Blues Festival has been turning Puente Genil into a reference point for blues in Andalusia. It is coordinated by Joaquín Rodríguez from the Juke Joint association, and its line-up mixes established Spanish bands with international artists. In 2023 the American Greg Anderson performed in Spain for the first time, and in 2026, at its twentieth edition, Angela Hoodoo and the frontman of The Black Mamba appeared, among others. Besides the main concerts, the festival takes the blues out into the street with performances on a mobile platform that travels round the town. It is a good chance to hear live blues, rock & roll and rhythm & blues without paying for a ticket.
Getting there and tickets
The main concerts are held at the Auditorio Municipal Hermanos Cuenca in Puente Genil from 10.30 pm, with free, open entry until full. In 2026 there was a bar service in aid of the AVAS association. It is organised by the Juke Joint association with the Delegación de Cultura of Puente Genil Town Council, and the Diputación de Córdoba supports it financially. The 2027 edition has no dates or line-up yet; they are usually presented in June.
