An extraordinary concert on All Souls' Day
On Monday, November 2, All Souls' Day, the Córdoba Orchestra leaves the Gran Teatro and Góngora Theatre to perform at the Holy Cathedral of Córdoba. This is one of the special concerts of their 2026/2027 season and is part of a solemn mass starting at 7:00 PM. The chosen piece is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem KV 626, the funeral mass left unfinished by the composer upon his death in 1791.
Orchestra, chorus, and four soloists
Conducted by Salvador Vázquez leading the Córdoba Orchestra and the Córdoba Opera Chorus. The solo parts are sung by soprano Elsa Roldán, mezzo-soprano Belén María Herrero, tenor Pedro Nieves Millán, and baritone Matheus Alvarenga. The Requiem alternates choral and orchestral passages, such as the Dies irae or the Lacrimosa, with numbers for the quartet of soloists.
Free entry until full capacity
Admission is free until full capacity, so arriving early is recommended. Since the concert is part of a liturgical celebration, appropriate conduct is requested. Full details of the rest of the season, including subscription cycles at the Gran Teatro, family concerts, and special events, are available on the Córdoba Orchestra website.
