What it is
As part of the “Falla y la Literatura” series, the Centro Andaluz de las Letras is holding a talk with the musician Óscar Prados Sillero on one of Manuel de Falla's least-known works. Invited by Federico García Lorca and Gerardo Diego to the commemoration of the third centenary of Góngora, the event regarded as the founding moment of the Generación del 27, the Cádiz-born composer set to music the celebrated sonnet “A Córdoba”, written by the Córdoba poet in the 16th century. Prados will look at how the piece brings out Falla's outlook as a composer, his artistic creed and his technical mastery, and how the sonnet works as a bridge across three centuries. A very Córdoba occasion for lovers of music and poetry.
