What it is
"Los últimos cómicos", by Pata Teatro, tells the story of three strolling players who, having arrived at a corral de comedias (a Golden Age courtyard theatre), set about preparing the performance. The story of their lives is interwoven with the beauty of verses by Calderón, Santa Teresa, Tirso and Lope, among others, all seasoned with humour. It is a comedy built from lived experience and texts of the Spanish Golden Age, in which tenderness and emotion give way to an endearing story, and a tribute to the players whose efforts have kept the acting tradition alive. It is conceived both for proscenium stages and for unusual courtyards with performance in the round.
