What it is

The company Atalaya stages "El Avaro" (The Miser), one of Molière's masterpieces and one of his last plays. Its protagonist, Harpagón, lives in terror of one obsessive fear: that someone will steal the chest where he hides his treasure, and he distrusts everyone, his own children included. Leonor, his daughter, is in love with Froilán, a young man who works for her father as his steward, while Cleanto wants to marry Belisa, a girl who lives with her mother and is about to be evicted by none other than the miser. The action takes place in Paris, although this version changes the names of some characters. It is 105 minutes of classic comedy for an adult audience.
