Conductor Naomi Woo leads the Orquesta de Córdoba in Brahms's Academic Festival Overture, Swim by the Canadian composer Cassandra Miller and Schumann's Symphony No. 2, written as the composer was emerging from a personal crisis. Thursday 12 November at the Gran Teatro.

The programme
Brahms composed his Academic Festival Overture, Op. 80, in thanks for an honorary doctorate, and filled it with student drinking songs. Schumann wrote his Symphony No. 2 in C major, Op. 61, as he emerged from a crisis, and it is music that forges its way through. Between the two comes Swim, by the contemporary composer Cassandra Miller. Naomi Woo conducts.
