What it is
In ‘Homo Faber’, Pancracio conceives his most precise creations in dreams. The dreamlike atmosphere in which he exercises his inventiveness and the perfection of his creatures lead him to confuse reality and fiction: day after day he witnesses the continual metamorphosis of his puppets, which, once manipulated, come to life through dance. But his feverish activity affects his own daughters, raised among fabrics, pins, wood and saws, cut off from the outside world, whom he gradually deprives of freedom without realising. The piece plays at personifying objects and objectifying people and reflects on the constrained creator and artistic freedom.
