“Hacer las paces: poesía y reconciliación” is a talk and discussion led by Raúl Alonso as part of the Diputación de Córdoba's Montaña Mágica programme. It offers a conversation about poetry as a tool for meeting, reflection and reconciliation, drawing on the work of two Córdoba authors. Antonio Varo Baena (Montilla, 1959) is a doctor and writer, the author of poetry collections such as Poemas para Andrómina, Viaje en la noche and Las estaciones, winner of the Premio Internacional Arcipreste de Hita, and was director of the Fundación Vicente Núñez and president of the Ateneo de Córdoba. Marta Merino belongs to the generation that came to notice with La Bella Varsovia and appears in the anthology Sais.
Getting there and tickets
The talk is on Friday 16 October at 19:00 at the Biblioteca Pública Municipal de Iznájar, in the centre of the village. It is organised by Iznájar Town Council as part of the Diputación de Córdoba's Montaña Mágica programme. The council's announcement mentions neither a price nor registration, so entry can be expected to be free while seats last.
