A series about the universe
Mirando al cielo. Conversaciones en torno al universo is the University of Córdoba's popular science series, which this autumn prepares a special edition on eclipses. It comes after the total solar eclipse seen from the peninsula in August 2026 and looks ahead to the next one, on 2 August 2027.
The two talks
On Wednesday 4 November at 19:00, David Galadí, UCO physics lecturer and national outreach coordinator of the Oficina de Divulgación de la Astronomía, explains what solar eclipses are, how they happen, what took place in August's and how to enjoy the next one safely. On Tuesday 10 November at the same time, Laura García Merino, a journalist at the Fundación Maldita, reviews the disinformation surrounding the 2026 eclipse and offers tools to avoid falling for hoaxes. Both sessions take place in the Sala Mudéjar of the University of Córdoba Rectorado, on avenida de Medina Azahara, from 19:00 to 21:00. The UCO does not say on its page whether registration is needed, so it is worth checking its events website before you go.
