What you will hear
March 2027 marks two hundred years since the death of Ludwig van Beethoven and the Orquesta de Córdoba devotes a whole programme to him, one of those its principal conductor, Salvador Vázquez, highlights in the season presentation. On the bill are the Leonore Overture No. 3, Op. 72b, which condenses an entire drama into some fifteen minutes; the Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op. 21, in which Haydn's accent can still be heard; and the Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60. It is the seventh concert in the subscription series and is performed by the orchestra without guest soloists, under Vázquez's direction.
