About the event

Every last day of the year the Club Deportivo Media Legua organises the San Silvestre de Baena, a festive run through the shopping district and the old town. In 2025 it drew nearly 500 runners and donated the proceeds to the Red Cross. Time and entries for 2026 still to be published.

  • A gentle pace, designed for families

What it is / What you will see

The San Silvestre de Baena is a tradition of the last day of the year in the town. It is organised by the Club Deportivo Media Legua with the Town Council's Sports Department, and in 2025 it reached its 18th edition with a record turnout: nearly 500 runners. More than a competition, it is a popular celebration, with many participants in fancy dress and a gentle pace so that children and older people can run. The route goes through the shopping district and the old town. All the proceeds go to charity: in 2025 they went to the local branch of the Red Cross. 2026 would be the nineteenth edition.

Getting there and tickets

The race is run through the streets of central Baena on the afternoon of 31 December. The Club Deportivo Media Legua has not yet published the start time, the route or the price and place of registration for 2026; it usually announces them in December on its website and the Town Council's social media. As in other years, the money raised will go to a local charity.
