An annual programme devoted to mushrooms in Priego de Córdoba and the Parque Natural Sierras Subbéticas, with talks, workshops, guided walks, photography outings, exhibitions and mushroom menus in local bars and restaurants. The Jardín Micológico La Trufa, in the hamlet of Zagrilla, extends its opening days and hours. Dates yet to be announced: the 2025 edition was held from 20 November to 14 December.

What it is
Priego Micológico is Priego de Córdoba's autumn date with the world of fungi, born of an idea from the Asociación Micológica Sierras Subbéticas in 2012. Over about three weeks it brings together specialist talks and workshops, guided hiking routes, photography outings, painting exhibitions, documentary screenings and tastings of menus made with mushrooms in local bars and restaurants. Its centrepiece is the Jardín Micológico La Trufa, in the hamlet of Zagrilla, the only facility in Spain devoted to mushrooms and truffles and part of the Andalusian network of botanical gardens, which during these weeks extends its visiting days and hours. Visitors are also invited to walk the Enrique Triano mycological trail from the Centro de Visitantes de Santa Rita. The 2026 edition does not yet have dates announced.
Getting there and registering
The activities are divided between the Jardín Micológico La Trufa in Zagrilla, the Centro de Visitantes de Santa Rita and the town centre of Priego de Córdoba, about 100 kilometres from the provincial capital. In 2025 the programme ran from 20 November to 14 December, with 15 activities; the 2026 dates are yet to be confirmed. All the activities are free except the mushroom menu, and they require registration in person at the Priego tourist office or through the forms in the official programme: in 2025 more than 70% of places were booked by opening day. It is organised by Priego town council and the Junta's Sustainability and Environment office in Córdoba.
