Andalusian horses and flamenco in the same arena

Pasión y Duende del Caballo Andaluz is the show Córdoba Ecuestre stages in the riding arena of the Caballerizas Reales, the building Philip II ordered built in 1570 to breed the horse now known as the Pura Raza Española. For just over an hour, one act follows another, summing up Andalusian horsemanship: groundwork, vaquera dressage, classical dressage, side-saddle riding and garrocha, all accompanied by live flamenco singing, guitar and dance. It is not a technical display aimed at enthusiasts, but a show for anyone who wants to see up close how a well-schooled Andalusian horse moves.

Dates and times until the end of the year

The autumn and winter season runs from Wednesday 28 October to Wednesday 30 December 2026, with performances at 20:00. Córdoba Ecuestre puts it on several days a week, usually Wednesday to Saturday, so check with the box office which days have a performance before you go. The show lasts 60 to 70 minutes. According to the organisers, it may take place in the covered arena or in the main courtyard, and they decide which, so on cold nights it is worth bringing a coat. The Caballerizas are right in the historic centre, between the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and the San Basilio neighbourhood, in a restricted-traffic zone, so the easiest way to get there is on foot.

Tickets and prices

General admission costs from 18,50 €, and there are children's and premium tickets, the latter with priority entry and better seats, each with its own price; under-3s go free. Official sales are through Córdoba Ecuestre at tickets.cordobaecuestre.com, and tickets are also sold at El Corte Inglés and at the Caballerizas box office. Seats are allocated on arrival at the venue. This website does not sell tickets: it lists the programme and refers you to the official point of sale for any change of time or refund.

Tips for the show

The stands surround the arena, so you get a good view from almost anywhere, but the premium ticket is worth it if you are going with children who want to be in the front row. Arrive a quarter of an hour early, as seats are handed out at the door: the entrance is on calle Caballerizas Reales and the show starts on the hour. In December it is a good plan to combine with a stroll under the Christmas lights in the centre.
