  • Head of the god Oceanus from a Roman mosaic of Córdoba
  • Newly restored
  • Talk about the piece on 11 November at 7 pm

A jewel of the collection

The figurative head of the god Oceanus filled the central emblem of a Roman mosaic from Colonia Patricia. A meticulous restoration has cleaned old alterations and consolidated the piece, which recovers the colour and relief of its tesserae.

Talk

On Wednesday 11 November at 7 pm the museum devotes the talk «Océanos en Corduba: sus representaciones musivas» (Oceanus in Corduba: his mosaic depictions) to the piece, with free entry until the 70 places are filled.
