What you'll see
Mencitopía, the Doña Mencía short film competition, reaches its second edition with two sections. The Official Section accepts Spanish shorts of up to five minutes filmed after 1 September 2025, with prizes of 1,000 and 500 euros. The Mencitopía 3 en 1 challenge requires teams to travel to the village and, on 17 October, film three one-minute pieces in a single location, using a different space for each; it carries a prize of 800 euros and another of 500 decided by the audience. The jury is made up of producer Teresa Segura, Córdoba filmmaker Javier Barbero and actress and screenwriter Esperanza Guardado.
Getting there and tickets
Everything happens in Doña Mencía, in Córdoba's Subbética district: the shoots for the express challenge take place on Saturday 17 October in the streets and spaces of the village, and the screenings and the closing gala with the awards ceremony are held on Saturday 24 October 2026. The organisers have not yet confirmed the venue for the gala. It is organised by the Town Council and the Asociación Cine y Entornos Rurales, with Córdoba Provincial Council, the Junta de Andalucía and the Mancomunidad de la Subbética.
