What you will hear
The ninth subscription programme is a tour of French music. It opens with Mother Goose, Maurice Ravel's ballet based on children's tales, and the overture to Raymond by Ambroise Thomas, which the orchestra is performing for the first time. It closes with Georges Bizet's Symphony No. 1 in C major, which the composer wrote at seventeen as a conservatoire exercise, put away in a drawer and which was not premiered until 1935. On this occasion the Orquesta de Córdoba is led by the guest conductor Audrey Saint-Gil, one of the guest batons of the 2026/27 season.
