What it is

Imaginando el Quijote is a show for the whole family by the company Escena Trece, included in the Butaca Familiar series ‘Vamos al teatro’. On a hot summer afternoon, Don Quixote's old dog languishes locked in the cellar. A young fox and his faithful friend, Mrs Crow, visit him to help the hours pass and tell him about his master's madcap adventures. And so this unusual trio of animals act out the most famous scenes from Cervantes's work, sharing dreams and misfortunes. The performers are Manuel Porras, Teresa Doctor and Iván Herrera, directed by Sabina Vicente, with adaptation and dramaturgy by Juan Castilla and original music by Miguel Linares. It is recommended for the third cycle of Primaria and the first cycle of ESO.

Getting there and tickets

The show is on Sunday 17 January 2027 at 12 noon at the Teatro Góngora, at Calle Jesús y María, 10, in the centre of Córdoba. Tickets cost €8 and are bought on the ticket website of the Instituto Municipal de Artes Escénicas (entradas.teatrocordoba.es) or at the box offices of the municipal theatres. The Butaca Familiar series is programmed by the IMAE in collaboration with Córdoba City Council's Department of Education and Childhood. It is a good Sunday-morning option for going with school-age children.
