A ballet gala for a cause
The Teatro Góngora hosts the third edition of the Maruja Caracuel school's classical ballet gala, a charity event whose proceeds go to Manos Unidas, the Catholic Church organisation that has been funding development projects in the poorest countries for more than 65 years. The school, which has spent more than six decades training dancers in Córdoba, has always supported various causes, and now Tania Ramírez, the founder's daughter, carries on that tradition.
What you will see on stage
Students of the Ballet de Maruja Caracuel perform different pieces from the classical repertoire, in a programme designed to showcase the work of several generations of the school. It is a good chance to see ballet in a historic theatre in the centre, a few days before Christmas and at a modest price. And as it is a charity gala, each ticket is also a small contribution to Manos Unidas projects, making it a nice way to start the festive season with a generous gesture.
Date, time and tickets
The gala is on Sunday 20 December 2026 at 19:00 at the Teatro Góngora, on calle Jesús y María, next to plaza de las Tendillas. Tickets cost 13 € in the mezzanine and 15 € in the stalls, and can be bought from the IMAE online box office or at the municipal theatres' box offices. If you go by car, there are public car parks near plaza de las Tendillas and the bulevar.
