Conoce tu provincia: Veredas de La Guijarrosa route

About the event

A free 11.9 km guided walk (low difficulty) in the Diputación de Córdoba's Conoce tu provincia 2026-2027 campaign, with a coach from the Plaza de Colón. Limited places with online registration.

Key points

  • Viewpoints over the Campiña and the Subbética
  • 11.9 km, low difficulty
  • Free with coach from Córdoba; 50 places

What it is and what you will see

A route through the Campiña Sur that largely follows old drovers' roads, such as the Vereda de Sevilla, which linked the farmlands of Seville and Córdoba. Along the way you visit an old quarry that becomes a refuge for birds and amphibians when it rains, and cross almond groves with remnants of native vegetation: broom and the odd centuries-old holm oak. Hills such as La Coscoja, El Gurugú and La Torre act as viewpoints towards the Sierras Subbéticas and the farmlands of Córdoba and Seville. It is almost 12 kilometres of low difficulty, organised by the Diputación as part of Conoce tu provincia. The accompanying visit is still to be decided.

Getting there and registration

The coach leaves from the forecourt of the Diputación car park, in the Plaza de Colón in Córdoba, on Sunday 17 January 2027, bound for La Guijarrosa. The approximate timetable is departure at around 8:30 am and return at about 6 pm, to be specified for each route. It is free and includes coach, guides, insurance and leaflet. Registration is individual, through a web form that opens at 8 am on the Monday of that week and closes once 50 places and 30 reserve places are filled; maximum 8 routes per person. Information: 957 211 322.
