A choir and a rock band
Choral Rock brings together two Córdoba groups that rarely share a stage: Coro Brouwer, a choral ensemble inspired by Leo Brouwer's music, and Dirección Prohibida, a rock band. The idea is to merge two distant worlds, choral music and urban popular music, in a single concert with arrangements written for soloists, choir, and band. Coro Brouwer organizes the event with the collaboration of the Municipal Institute of Performing Arts (Teatros de Córdoba) and the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art, and presents it on Saturday, December 19, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at Teatro Góngora.
From folk to heavy metal
The repertoire spans styles of urban popular music: folk, pop, rock and its derivatives, heavy metal, and new wave. Over an hour and a half of famous songs by artists like Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Scorpions, and Queen, with Toto also featured among the covers. The choir's voices are supported by guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards to give a different texture to songs the audience knows by heart. This is a show designed for rock fans and also for those who enjoy choral music and want to hear a different repertoire.
Tickets and access
Tickets cost 15 euros, a single price, available on the Teatros de Córdoba website (teatrocordoba.es). Teatro Góngora is located on Jesús y María street, near Plaza de las Tendillas. Once purchased, tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. All attendees need a ticket, including children, and children under five cannot attend unless it's a children's show. If purchased with a discount, proof must be shown at the door.
