What it is / What you'll see
This year the XXVII Carrera Popular Ciudad de Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo carries the name "Huellas del Carbón" (footprints of coal), a nod to the town's history and mining past, and it is also the XVI Memorial Juan Gabriel García Guisado. The event brings runners and families together for a day of sport and community with a main 10 km race, children's categories and other formats. This edition is for charity: part of the proceeds goes to the Asociación Tu Causa, Mi Meta. The Town Council encourages everyone to take part or to come out and cheer on the runners.
