What it is
The XXIV Orozco Piano Festival brings to the Teatro Góngora Vadym Kholodenko, a pianist born in Kyiv and Gold Medallist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He began studying the piano at six, was touring abroad at thirteen and today plays with orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony and the Filarmonica della Scala. He has been artist in residence with the Fort Worth Symphony and the SWR Symphonieorchester in Stuttgart, and in 2025 he made his debut at the BBC Proms. The Guardian praised his iron technique, capable of moments of crystalline delicacy. He is also a regular chamber musician alongside figures such as Vadim Repin and the Belcea and Jerusalem quartets.
Getting there and tickets
The recital is on Friday 30 October 2026 at 20:00 at the Teatro Góngora, Calle Jesús y María, 10, in the centre of Córdoba. Tickets cost €12 (single price) and are sold on the IMAE website, entradas.teatrocordoba.es, and at the box offices of the municipal theatres. It is organised by Córdoba's Instituto Municipal de Artes Escénicas as part of the Orozco Piano Festival, dedicated to the Córdoba pianist Rafael Orozco. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded, and children under 5 are not admitted.
