What it is
La Cena Criminal combines a full dinner with an interactive murder-mystery play. Over the course of the evening, guests witness a murder case and have to gather clues and piece together unexpected twists until they find the culprit. Each guest chooses how to experience it: you can sit back and enjoy the mystery as a spectator, or get more involved and take on the role of suspect or investigator. The food is provided by the restaurant hosting the evening, in this case the Parador de Córdoba. The format is inspired by the ‘murder mystery games’ that began in England in the early 20th century, when amateur theatre companies staged detective novels. An original plan for a celebration or a night out as a group.
Getting there and tickets
The dinner is on Saturday 16 January 2027 at 8 pm at the Parador de Córdoba. The ticket, which includes dinner and show, costs from 119.90 euros and is bought from El Corte Inglés. It is organised by the company Engesser Marketing GmbH, which produces this mystery-dinner format in various cities. As it is an experience with dinner included, the price is considerably higher than for a conventional theatre performance, and the purchase, as with all other El Corte Inglés events, is final and non-refundable.
