What it is / What you'll see

Cateura takes its name from one of the world's thousands of landfills, where tonnes of waste that other countries do not want arrive every day, and where the inhabitants survive by sorting rubbish. From that image, Alas Circo Teatro builds a piece for all ages that traces the voyage of waste: from homes and streets to treatment plants, from water to the sea, and on the ships that carry rubbish from rich countries to poor ones. On stage, María Jesús Buffa and Juan Manuel Sánchez combine circus, music, object manipulation and acrobatic movement. It is by Alas Circo Teatro and Lapso Producciones, and it invites us to think about a more sustainable world without giving up a sense of wonder.
